Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a Canadian-American comedian, actress, and writer. O'Hara has won a number of prizes which include a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In the year 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. Then, in 2020, she received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara was first noticed as an actor in the year 1974 as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd, she was part the main ensemble of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara was a part of Candy on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). The show received the attention of critics both for her writing abilities and acting and was honored with an Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
